Well, IISER Pune is well ahead of us. Their blog page saddened me; put me in my humps. Whoa! Their profs even blog there! They have a basketball court, a proper maintained new hostel. Both iiser kol and iiser pune were established at the same time, inn'it?? But How are we lagging behind? How is it possible, that we are still lingering and still in a to-be-kicked-out situation in this bckv campus?? You see, they have what you call a proper football tournament! Like a proper football tournament, guys!! Not like what we have out here! A small football field with a small no. of players with again a small support! This is poignant and depressing. Utterly heart-rending.
We have the highest paid profs, we have the largest campus among all the fives....still we are so pathetic!!
We all are, especially, the high profile ones are bogus! Abhinandan, could be much happier thus with our blog. Representing oneself is what and how the world cares the damn about you. Fake. We are. I am no more happy with our blog,
Did you ever catch a glimpse of our Director during Inquivesta?? Where the hell was he?? He couldn't care less about it? With Inquivesta being a success, it was only due to the toil of the students; the teachers and profs dont even come close to that. Pathetic. Pune has got itself an annual magazine, Kalpa! And amazingly, let me assure you, yet again, you will be DEMORALIZED. Disgusting. These are just a few instances. We are like far behind....crawling like an ant contrarily they are hopping like the grasshopper.....hmph!
No one is stopping anyone from putting out an online magazine, yet I hardly see anyone doing it.
ReplyDeleteNo one stops anyone from having wonderful activities in clubs, blogging about it, having informal meetups, organizing contests, and generally, having a lot of fun.
Generally speaking, we always overestimate the importance of what we can not change and underestimate the importance and relevance of what we CAN do.
we do have an online magazine, a type online help desk for the laymen.......that is the fun part!
ReplyDeleteWe can do, if we really do. But the trouble is, you can't go on alone, as stumbling upon a small stone is obvious as our resources are minimal. Here,asking for help is out of our league..

ReplyDeleteMany initiatives in IISER Pune have been started up because a group of interested students came together to want to do it. And they managed to find a faculty willing to push the cause, ask for funds, send e-mails etc.
The Student clubs have made a very big difference to the activity levels over here. Many that started in the past 5 years have vanished, some go through ups and downs, but the major challenge is finding people willing to take up the responsibility to continue it.
So why don't all of you get together, decide on what you would like most, and push for it. Faculty being young and enthusiastic, I'm sure you'll be able to get support from them.
And I don't think IISER resources are minimal. IISER Pune's been willing to fund us for starting up most of our activities. You just need to convince the admin of the need for it.

Thanks,but yes, with a lot of effort, in a month or two there will be our first literary magazine "Muse"....and again this is all due to the toil of the students....!
